The Desperate Dash and the Borrowed Bike"
So here's the thing: I was a bit of a hot mess during my freshman year (who wasn't, right?). And I did something that I'm sure fellow classmates can relate to, but it's not something I'm particularly proud of. We all understand the whole getting-to-class-on-time hustle, yeah? Well, I took that to a whole new level. I once got so desperate to make it to my Intro to Psych class on time (I had already been late twice) that I actually *borrowed* a professor's bike. As in, didn't ask, just took it.
I was chuffed that I managed to get to class on time in record speed, but was caught out when I returned the bike and found the professor waiting for me. He just looked at me, shook his head, and said: "Next time, kid, just be late." So yeah, *that* happened. Lesson learned: punctuality doesn't excuse theft.
